Frequently Asked Questions

What is Brow Lamination? This procedure helps to achieve symmetry of the eyebrows, providing the desired shape and color, by keeping any free-willed brow hairs in place! Brow Lamination allows you to create the perfect shape, and helps recover and strengthen hairs, nourishing them with natural components. The idea is not to add in hairs, but brush them wherever you want them, and fix them there. The benefit of this is not only do eyebrows look groomed and tidy, but also much, much thicker, and they don’t move around. You can choose if you want them all the way up and bushy, slightly on the side, or different directions, such as upwards on the inner brows and tapering sideways to the tail. It lasts for up to
2 months, which is the natural-life-cycle of the hairs.

*A tint can be added for the appearance of extra fullness and definition.

**For customers who like the big brow look but are also a fan of low key maintenance, brow lamination is ideal. This treatment is ideal for men too, with or without tint.

**Contraindications
- Must avoid using acutane/retinol two weeks prior to treatment and two weeks after treatment.

- Treatment cannot be provided if you have any cuts/wounds on the brow area.
- No abrasions of any sort around or on the brows.
- If you have severe acne, treatment cannot be provided.

What is Microblading? Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic technique for enhancing the appearance of the
eyebrows, in which pigment is scratched into the skin in fine, short strokes resembling hair, using a hand
tool with a blade formed of tiny needles.

How does it work? Microblading is the process of making, superficial cuts in the brow line, which are
then filled in with pigment to create darker, fuller brows. Microblading is also used to reshape the brow.
It can fill in thinning arches, or create the perfect tapering effect. Thanks to a specially designed hand
tool, Microblading can create hair-thin cuts that mimic the shape of real eyebrows. Traditional eyebrow
tattooing made brows look artificial, both in thickness and color, resulting in “Sharpie”-esque brows.
With Microblading, however, the results are nearly indistinguishable from real eyebrows.
Microblading heals best on young, healthy skin that is normal to dry.
Oily skin and thin aging skin are not ideal and therefore not recommended for Microblading. The results will not heal as well and will not look as natural. Combo or Ombre brows are best recommended for this skin type.

What is Combo Brow? A Combo brow combines Microblading strokes with machine shading, giving the
brows more thickness with a soft Ombre effect. This technique is recommended for all skin types
(including oily/aging skin).

What is Ombre Brow? This technique is recommended for oily or aging skin, and typically lasts longer
than traditional Microblading or Combo brows. Ombre brow technique has no hair strokes but rather
has a make-up powdery look and is ideal for those looking to have flawless brows 24/7.

Does it hurt? No! Before any semi-permanent procedure begins, your brows are treated with a numbing
ointment to reduce any discomfort. The level of pain is similar to eyebrow threading. Overall,
Microblading is no worse than regular waxing or plucking.

How long does it take? The procedure can take up to three hours. This is because there are several
stages involved. The desired shape, arch, and thickness of the brows have to first be outlined and drawn
in before the actual procedure can begin. This is to ensure that things look exactly the way you want
them to. It’s a delicate process that requires precision and attention to detail.

How much does it cost? Please refer to list of services for pricing details.

How long does it last? The results usually last between 1 and 3 years and may last longer for any
Combo/Ombre brows. Because it’s semi-permanent, the pigment will eventually fade. You should
consider going in for a touch-up after 12 months.

Do I need a touch up appointment? Yes! 2 sessions are required. During the 6-8 week
follow-up the pigment retention will be assessed in order to make any necessary adjustments.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

If you normally get your eyebrows waxed or threaded, you may get them done 3 days

until your appointment. I will pluck any stray hairs after the mapping of your new
eyebrows.

- Do not come to your appointment with a sunburn on your forehead or flaring skin
around your eyebrows. In this case, email me at least 48 hours prior to your
   appointment to reschedule.
- Avoid chemical peels at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment.
- Avoid alcohol, Ibuprofen or any medication that thins the blood 24 hours prior to your
   appointment.

- Are currently using Accutane, or have used Accutane within the past year
- Are on blood thinning medications or antibiotics
- Have a freshly tanned/sunburned face

Aftercare

Semi-Permanent Aftercare-
Please keep in mind that the healing process is extremely important and necessary. About 70% of the outcome depends on how well you take care of them. The first 10 days are the most important as you currently have open wounds on your eyebrows. Be prepared as your brows will appear very dark in the first few days and will begin to scab over as well. This is completely normal! A liquid bandage will be applied to your brows which will help keep them clean and safe (this is not to be washed off). As your brows scab over, they will also flake off on their own and you will be able to see the strokes that were placed underneath. Keep in mind that not ALL strokes will stick perfectly, this will be taken care of during your touch up. Also, if the color seems lighter or different than we had hoped, this will also be taken care of during your touch up. It takes about 3 weeks for your brows to completely heal.
These next few things are the MOST IMPORTANT part of the healing process.
NO SUN! (10 minutes in the sun can change the color of your brows!)
NO WATER! (Do not get them wet for the first 10 days, cover them while taking cool, quick showers and
let the water run off your back!)
NO SCRATCHING! (They will be itchy, BE STRONG, it’s worth it!)
